Garry Cook: "I look forward to immediately starting work to realise our ambition to make Saudi football a powerhouse of the global game"

In a paper dated 25 January 2023, Sports 247, the "Ultimate Malaysian Sports Channel", informs about the appointment of Garry Cook, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Manchester City and global sports, marketing and branding consultant, as the new Executive President and CEO of the Saudi Pro League.

The Malaysian website reproduces a quote of the Garry Cook where he says clearly that the ambition of Saudi Arabia is to become a "powerhouse" of global football/soccer. 

"I was immediately impressed by the passion and ambition of the Saudi Pro League’s board and leadership (...) We have been challenged to deliver a program of transformation for football on the world stage" - Garry Cook, Executive President and CEO, Saudi Pro League
